Cinema 4D XL icons

Preparing files for editing

Quit Cinema4D if it's open.

Go to the applications folder and find the following files:

MAXON > CINEMA_4D_XL_R7 > Resource > res > c4d_commands.res

MAXON > CINEMA_4D_XL_R7 > Resource > icons > c4d_icons.res

MAXON > CINEMA_4D_XL_R7 > Resource > icons > icons_timeline.tif

MAKE COPIES of these files and put them in a safe folder. If the files you're altering get messed up you can put the copies back.

The file "c4d_commands.res" contains the names of all the commands in C4D. From this file you can find the command you want to make an icon for and see what the official C4D name is for it.

The file " c4d_icons.res" contains the code that tells C4D where the icons are in the icon art files.

The file "c4d_timeline.tif" is the art for the icons for the Timeline. Each stock palette has it's own tif file. I'm using Timeline because it's the one that I edited.
